The initiative was established as part of the follow-up to the landmark report, Mission-shaped Church. Our work in the first phase has focused around renewing vision for this kind of mission, gathering news of what is happening, resourcing growth through spreading good practice and developing innovative forms of training.

The team has worked at grass roots level with dioceses and districts and has played a leading role in the formation of national policy in both churches.

Our current work focuses on extending the reach of the movement within the Church of England, Methodist and United Reformed Churches and to other denominations, consolidating all that has been achieved in terms of major projects and policy changes and seeking the integration of our training and best practice with the ongoing life of the churches.
