 | | Fresh Expressions national day of pilgrimage
The Fresh Expressions national day of pilgrimage took place at Coventry Cathedral on 8th December 2008, on the traditional date of the feast of the immaculate conception.
Pilgrims gathered from all round the nation to explore fresh expressions of the contemplative and catholic traditions. The day was organised through the work of the Fresh Expressions Round Table 5, which seeks to develop fresh expressions of church drawing on sacramental and contemplative traditions. | | |

 | | Blessed has been shuffling around the back of the Church of England since 2003, causing nuisance and upsetting the calm quiet of evensong. Coming from a distinctly anglocatholic heritage from urban Portsmouth, its mission is to seek the sacramental in all of creation, and to embrace the sacramental life in wildly, rabidly inclusive ways.

 | | Visions, founded in 1989 in York, sometimes teasingly call themselves a stale expression. They are passionate about mission, the arts, the sacraments, and interpreting ancient faith to a future generation, which they have done in many ways, using medieval art, labyrinths, creative prayer and technology in their worship, which is nevertheless orthodox, prayerful and multi-sensory. Last year they teamed up with the staff of York Minster to begin a new fresh expression called "Transcendence, an ancient-future Mass", which teams up ancient liturgy with modern artistic creativity"

 | | Streams gatherings are planned with people from a wide range of faith backgrounds in mind. Our 30-minute monthly worship follows a simple order of service with readings from scripture and other writers, combined with music and other creative resources. A led meditation follows with space for responding through a physical act. We also meet between these gatherings in people’s homes.

 | | As part of our commitment to fresh expressions of Church we are involved in setting up GLORIOUS! - A youth based Fresh Expression which uses Multi Media Mass as a vehicle for proclamation of our faith and inculturates our faith with contemporary means of communication. ‘Glorious’ is still very new. It is based at the Parish of Saint John Chrysostom, Peckham working with the Parish of Saint Philip, Camberwell out of the work of Blessèd. Glorious is not a regular and self-sustaining community, but rather an occasional gathering to inspire people in mission as a focus of youth ministry in our locality. Our vision for the future is to develop this work and continue to have occasional large scale youth events. We hope to combine this with the development of our buildings and to foster a community around art and music working with a small group of people in this area of South London. | |
 | | Contemplative Fire is an extended community, drawing its inspiration from the dynamic tradition of scripture, early Christian praxis, patristic theology, Celtic and medieval monasticism. Our name reflects the paradox that we see in Christ, in the reflective and the active, withdrawal and engagement, the beauty of the created order and the power of the imagination.

feig | | feig are a (small) community based in the city of Gloucester. Together we are seeking to know and follow Jesus Christ. As we create space to listen to God (through word and sacrament) and each other (through living generously), we expect to discover the resources needed to make a positive difference in our local communities. We celebrate our place within the wider church, although our emerging community might be described as a home for those who struggle to find a space in more traditional structures.
