Karen Carter joined Fresh Expressions in October 2009 as Senior Writer and Media Officer.
Liverpudlian Karen has always been involved in journalism and public relations and she still loves meeting people, hearing their stories and passing the word on to others. After starting her career as a reporter on Merseyside, Karen later worked across the country, becoming deputy editor of the Christian Herald and the first-ever ‘Northern correspondent’ for BBC staff magazine, Ariel.
She will be responsible for the initiative's relations with the media as well as writing for the journals, magazines and websites produced by Fresh Expressions. Currently living in Sussex, Karen will soon return to the North West where she will continue to enjoy the sheer thrill of live theatre; walks along Sefton coast trying to spot the often distant sea at Southport; and countless hours of people-watching at the Tower Ballroom, Blackpool. Heaven.
