We are delighted to make the mission shaped ministry course locally available as an effective means of training all God’s people further in mission. This has been established jointly between the Diocese of Chelmsford and the Church Mission Society with a growing and broader ownership across the major church movements and denominations. We believe it will be a significant resource for the building of the Kingdom of God in this area. The course has a particular focus on the development of new areas of outreach that engages those outside the reach of traditional church.
This course is designed for laity, clergy and for all trained church leaders. We particularly hope small groups from a congregation will come as this may well deepen the impact of the course and better equip existing congregations. Some may already be involved in a fresh expression of church, others committed to exploring the idea. The course is ecumenical and open to all, subject to the agreement of their senior minister/leader. Costs for the course may be covered by clergy/ministry grants.
The course is hosted by Revd Tony Cant and teachers include both local and national experts such as Canon Chris Neal, Paul Thaxter and Bob and Mary Hopkins.

Commendations
Mission-shaped Church and fresh expressions have raised a great deal of interest and discussion in the last couple of years. The mission shaped ministry course provides practical and serious training for action to move things forward for those involved in fresh or inherited expressions of mission and church. Don't miss the opportunity!
Rt Revd David Hawkins, Bishop of Barking, Lead Bishop for Mission, Diocese of Chelmsford.
Having seen some of the work which Fresh Expressions support and encourage, I am utterly confident that this course is completely mission directed and will empower the delegates in significant enterprises for the sake of God's Kingdom. The curriculum is comprehensive and will not only help the delegates with new insights and skills in terms of mission, but will also encourage personal spiritual development and growth. A valuable investment for anyone with a passion to share the Gospel in new and relevant ways.
Major Mike Caffull, Divisional Director for Evangelism, The Salvation Army London North-East Division.
It gives me great pleasure to commend mission shaped ministry. In today's culture we need new tools to share the Good News in different ways. This course will be a great asset to those who wish to update their skills focusing on mission and outreach within the communities they serve.
Revd Anne Brown, Chair of Beds, Essex & Herts Methodist District.
I'm delighted to commend the course. I've been involved in teaching the course from which it's been developed for several years and feel it is a very useful tool.
Revd Graham Horsley, Evangelism and Church Planting Secretary, Methodist Church House.
