From 1st October 2009 media enquiries and public relations for the Fresh Expressions initiative will be managed by a newly formed in-house communications team.
As the work of the national team has expanded, it has become increasingly clear that there is a need for a co-ordinated approach across all platforms (podcast, publications, websites etc) as well as increasing the supply of stories to the press and media.
The team, headed up by Director of Communication and Resources, former BBC producer, Norman Ivison will also be responsible for offering multi-media and design support to the mission shaped ministry course, which now runs in almost 30 centres with 1500 students enrolled.
Norman Ivison commented on the work of 33rpm, which has held the media/communications brief in the first phase of the initiative. 'I am certain we would not have the public profile we enjoy, had it not been for the professionalism of Rob Marshall and his team. Rob has done a brilliant job in not only keeping routine communication flowing, but also in challenging the initiative to see itself as others see it.'
33rpm will continue to work for Fresh Expressions on major projects and campaigns as well as providing occasional out of hours cover.
