The highly successful Fresh Expressions mission shaped ministry course, which helps Christians to reach those not involved in traditional churches, is to take place in Corfe Mullen from January 2010.
The one year, part-time mission shaped ministry course looks at how to start and sustain, fresh expressions of church. It is available in over 30 centres across the country and, by the end of 2010, an estimated 2,000 people will have taken part in the sessions.
The course will take place at St Nicholas Church, 30 Wareham Road, Corfe Mullen, Wimborne, Dorset, from 16th January 2010. The 24-unit course is presented over three Saturdays (9.30am to 4.30pm), a residential weekend at Chantmarle Christian Resource Centre, Frome St Quinton, Dorchester, DT2 OHD, and seven Tuesday evenings (7.45pm to 10pm).
The Corfe Mullen programme has been established jointly between Fresh Expressions and H3art Rhythms with a growing and broader ownership across the major church movements, the Church of England Diocese of Salisbury, and the Southampton Methodist District.
The Rt Revd Dr Graham Kings, Bishop of Sherborne, said it was:
an exciting initiative to enable us to grow relevant mission in Dorset.
Val Potter, Ecumenical Officer for Dorset, added:
It is exciting to have msm available locally, as it will equip participants to explore new forms of ministry, reinvigorating the Church in this area.
