Ten mission shaped ministry courses are set to get underway in locations across England, Scotland and Canada this autumn.
The msm courses starting in September and October are Cumbria and North Lancashire, Sheffield, North East (Berwick and Gateshead), Lincolnshire, and Toronto, Canada (all 17th September start); Birmingham, Cambridgeshire and Suffolk, Kent and South East (from 24th September); and North London (Muswell Hill) and Aberdeen (from 1st October).
Cumbria and North Lancashire (17th September)
The course has been made available through the Dioceses of Blackburn and Carlisle, Lancashire and Cumbria Methodist Districts and URC North Western Synod. Course leaders are Paul Dunstan and Nick Moxon.
Sheffield (17th September)
Organised through Sheffield Methodist District and Diocese of Sheffield. Course leaders are Mark Wigglesworth and Rachel McCallam and teachers include Steven Croft, George Lings and Andrew Roberts.
Lincolnshire (17th September)
Made available through Ground Level, the Diocese of Lincoln, Lincoln and Grimsby Methodist District and Churches Together in all Lincolnshire. Course leaders are Pete and Kath Atkins with teachers are drawn from a wide field of local and national expertise.
North East - Berwick and Gateshead (17th September)
In the North East, msm – through the CofE, Methodist, Baptist and Free Churches - is providing venues in Berwick and Gateshead with a shared venue on two Saturdays and a weekend at Otterburn Hall. Course leaders and teachers include Stephen and Elaine Lindridge, Keith Osborn, David Currie, Andrew Roberts and Roy Searle.
Toronto, Canada (17th September)
Fresh Expressions Canada is making msm available locally, by means of distance sites throughout the country, as well as at the hub in Toronto. The lead teacher is Revd Dr Connie denBok, a pastor in the United Church of Canada.
Birmingham (24th September)
This msm is supported by the Diocese of Birmingham and Birmingham Methodist District. Course leaders are Jonathan Dowman and Michele Simms. Teachers include Graham Cray, Dave Male, Joanne Cox, Jeff Reynolds, George Fisher, Tony Hardy, Rachel Jordan, Andrew Roberts and Pall Singh.
Cambridgeshire and Suffolk (24th September)
Organised through the Dioceses of Ely and Edmundsbury and Ipswich, the Methodist, Baptist and United Reformed Churches and Plumbline. Course leaders are David Male, Matt Finch and Claire Darracott. Teachers include George Lings, Maggi Dawn, Paul Hills, Chris Duffett and Graham Horsley.
Kent and South East (24th September)
Provided by the Rochester and Canterbury Dioceses, South East District of the Methodist Church, Baptist Church and the Salvation Army. The course leaders are Kerry Thorpe and Ross Garner. Teachers include Jean Kerr.
North London - Muswell Hill (1st October)
Organised through the Methodist, Anglican and United Reformed Churches in North London. The course leaders are Richard Armiger, Andy Dart, Tim Swindell and Ann-Marie Wilson. Course teachers include Andrew Roberts, Martyn Atkins and John Coles.
Aberdeen (1st October)
The Church of Scotland and Scottish Episcopal Church are delighted to make msm available locally. Leaders are David Currie, Gerry Bowyer and Phil Lightbody. Course teachers include John Drane, Olive Fleming Drane, Andrew Roberts, Graham Cray, Pete and Kath Atkins and Ian Adams.
