This insight has been the heartbeat of mission around most of the world for decades. In the last 20 years mission in the post-Christian west has been applying that thinking and fresh expressions take it further by forming churches for the unchurched in a culturally appropriate way.
Keynote speakers
John Coles, with his wife Anne, took over the leadership of New Wine in 2001. He is particularly involved in the development of the Church Leaders' Network in the UK and has an increasing role representing New Wine in the wider church community. John and Anne have recently started a new missional congregation meeting in a home.

Graham Cray is the Archbishops' Missioner and Leader of the Fresh Expressions team. He was the Bishop of Maidstone for eight years and Bishop for Mission in the Diocese of Canterbury. Before this he was Principal of Ridley Hall theological college in Cambridge, after 14 years as Vicar of St Michael le Belfrey, York. He is passionate about the engagement of the gospel with contemporary culture, youth ministry and the theology of renewal.

Andrew Roberts works for Fresh Expressions as Director of Training. He worked for Ford Motor Company as a financial analyst before training for the Methodist ministry. He served in two Circuits where he developed two fresh expressions: a church plant in a community centre in Doncaster and the Funky Fish Club for children in Stourbridge. He is committed to seeing as many Christians as possible explore the vision and values of fresh expressions and receive the best quality training and support when they seek to develop new forms of church.
Mark Carey leads Kairos Network Church, a Bishop's Mission Order in the Deanery of Harrogate, Ripon and Leeds Diocese. Kairos was originally a CofE parish church and its story is of an ongoing transition into a fresh expression of church releasing missional communities that are discipleship oriented, mission focused and Holy Spirit responsive.
Annie Kirke is a pioneer priest in the Church of England. She works across the Diocese of London supporting the emergence of missional communities – organic groups of Christians trying to live as radical disciples of Jesus in their local communities, work places and across their social networks.
Andy Freeman is in his second year of training at St Mellitus to be a pioneer minister with the Church of England. He is involved in the 24-7 prayer movement, heading up the partnership with Fresh Expressions.
Steve Clarke is a pioneer minister in Gloucester and curate at Gloucester Cathedral. He leads a church community, Feig, which began organically meeting in homes and hosting parties. Steve's hope is to create a developing space for belonging, discipleship and worship that is creative, contemporary and progressive.
David Bartlett looks after 'one', a multiple expression of church involving cells, youth and all-age worship. He is also Team Vicar of three traditional churches and one of the hosts of New Wine's Rural Forum.

Jude Smith is based in Leeds where she is a pioneer minister and curate in the inner city. She has been part of the 24-7 prayer movement for a number of years, and is passionate about prayer, justice, politics and most sports.
Bob and Mary Hopkins lead Anglican Church Planting Initiatives, a small team working in the UK and Europe. They have a wide ministry of consultation and training and, since 2005, have been on the Archbishop’s Fresh Expressions Team and are partnering with CMS for a mission movement.
Gareth Robinson recently returned to the UK, after leading worship for five years in the USA, to plant a church and continue mentoring and encouraging other worship leaders.
