In a culture which is increasingly interested in spirituality rather than religion, the church is challenged to consider how you express the Christian faith in this new post-secular context. There are many resources in the historic contemplative tradition that resonate deeply with the great number of spiritual seekers in this the third millenium.
This study day aims to enable those who are interested in contemplative spirituality or those interested in pioneering approaches to mission to explore this more fully, drawing on the experience of a number practitioners in this field.
Tessa Holland is a priest in the Diocese of Chichester and a pioneering facilitator with Contemplative Fire.
Ian Mobsby is a priest and missioner to the Moot Community, a new monastic expression of church in the City of London. Ian is an accomplished international speaker and author in the area of mission and contemporary culture with 20 years experience of experimental forms of church. He is a member of the College of Evangelists and a leading member of the New Monasticism Network.
Ian Adams is a founding member of the Still Point contemplative initiative in Oxford and founding member of the Maybe community in the same town. Ian is also the coordinator for the CMS Small Missionary Communities initiative and a leading member of New Monastic initiatives in England.
Pauline Warner, is a Methodist Minister with a special interest regarding mission to spiritual seekers. Pauline is currently undertaking research looking at the whole area of the contemplative traditions and forms of mission to spiritual seekers.
