vision days are a dynamic way to explore new ways of being church and how to form them. So far over 6000 Christians in over 80 places in the UK and worldwide have discovered more about fresh expressions of church and have come away with a real desire to work with God and develop their dreams. In a fun and interactive way, vision days give you the chance to:
- share your story
- think about what it is to be church
- ask questions
- find out about fresh expressions
- discover resources
- build networks and relationships
vision days are a fresh experience in themselves and are ideal for:
- complete beginners
- those who have real questions about fresh expressions and mission-shaped church
- those who have started something new and need some practical help
- Christians from any church and every tradition
Each vision day is led by two of the Fresh Expressions team and is carefully planned in partnership with an ecumenical group of churches to ensure that it is locally relevant. They usually take place on a Saturday with around 50 local Christians attending.

What you think
The rural vision day I attended as Bishop of Shrewsbury was so encouraging because of the great interest from rural churchgoers but also because we heard of so many exciting and innovative things already going on. We should have more of these vision days.
Alan Smith, Bishop of St Albans
Today I learnt that 'fresh expressions of church' is not just the latest buzz word. I see its impact.
John Grice, Oswestry vision day
I've been waiting for a day like this for ages. The subjects that were discussed have been what I've wanted to do but I didn't know how to go forward. It has given me lots to think and pray about.
Eileen Bamford, Stoke-on-Trent vision day
